About PowerBacks

PowerBacks was established in 1997 as the graphic production brain child of one of our designers. When Office 97 came out it had no additional templates past office 95. At that point we noticed a gigantic hole in the Microsoft thinking citing, "programmers what do they know about art?" I am going to create my own series of templates because I am sick and tired see the originals over and over and the idea of PowerBacks was born.

It took about a year of production before the first CD collection was ready to go to the factory for fabrication, only 200 templates. 10 years later it was a 4 CD set with 2,000 creative and generic original templates. In 2007 the best 300 were culled out and placed on the website completely free for public use. PowerBacks has been downloaded by over 50 million people in just about every country on the face of the earth and enjoys a huge following in China.

Powerbacks will be releasing a new supplemental set of widescreen backgrounds coming out in June 2010 and a subsequent montage collection depicting business/financial, social/education & science/technology themes.
